The lotus flower starts as a small flower down at the bottom of a pond in the mud and muck. It slowly grows up towards the waters surface continually moving towards the light. Once it come to the surface of the water the lotus flower begins to blossom and turn into a beautiful flower.
Within Hinduism and Buddhism the lotus flower has become a symbol for awakening to the spiritual reality of life.

Made it through alive.

They finally got our heat fixed!! We all made it out alive. No fatalities due to freezing. My butt only stuck to the toilet seat like for times, and the snot running out of nose finally turned into snot sicles so that was much better (Gross I know). So when I left this afternoon the building was starting to warm and the icicles were melting away into they're little puddles! Yeah!! I hope it's still working when I get in tomorrow!! I'll still dress warm. I should mention that when I left the house this morning I was wearing my pajama pants and jeans, then a tank top, tee shirt, and sweater and my coat, then when I got to work where I couldn't wear my coat I topped all this off with my scrubs!! I took one of my beanies just incase!! It was actually colder inside, than outside!

Still no heat

So I get to work this morning and there is still no heat in this building. It's 20 degrees in the receiving room and pretty much everywhere else. I can't feel my fingers, let alone any other part of my body. The restroom is so cold it freezes on the way out. If you know what I mean. They are still working on it though. They did get heat in the high grade room. That's where I am usually at, but not today. Sure wouldn't mind being in there today!! But hey you just have to grin and bear it.

1. I hate being alone. Even for like just a few minutes. I don't really enjoy alone time when I get it. That's why I don't spend much time at home.
2. I don't like to talk on the phone. I prefer a face to face conversation. Then I can actually see the person's reactions.
3. I LOVE to cook. I wanted to go to Culinary school, and own my own restaraunt.
4. I am very insecure about myself. Over everything, looks, choices, work, everything!!
5. I like to sleep but not at night.

Too much coffee makes you lazy...

I have noticed that on the weekends my intake of coffee increases by atleast 80% from during the week when I'm at work. I've also noticed that I am motivated at work, and not at home. I think there is a connection here. At home when I drink the increased ampunt of coffee I will sit here at the computer and play all day. I will do nothing constructive and don't even want to think about the idea of doing anything but relaxing and enjoying days off. Less coffee, more work. I am determined to do everything I can and am even stricken to do extra just because I feel like it. Pure coincidence or scientific theory proven. Now some might not see it this way but I definately think this could be the answer to my weekend rests. See too much coffee makes you lazy!! I'm sure of it!

Oh the weather outside is....

Crappy, sucky, shitty, snowing and cold. I hate the snow. I'm sorry, when I was a kid it was fun. Yay snow angels, and snowmen, and sleding!! But now, cold and slick driving, ice and sliding. YUCK!! This shit is bad. Why can't I live in the Bahamas where it's warm and I can sit on a beach with a Pina Colada and a cabana boy named Rico to fan me with a giant palm leaf like they show in the movies. Yeah that sounds like the perfect winter to me!! One day I will have it! Muahahaha!!

Freezing...

I had a lousy day at work. I get there yesterday morniing and there are NO heaters!! None what so ever! NOTHING!!! It was awful. It was colder inside than it was outside. I called mantenance and they said sorry don't know what to tell you, we're waiting on parts. Now I thought to myself you're waiting on parts for ALL the weatherights!?!? What the hell. They can't all be broken. As I sat in my office, looking at my breath, I decided to talk to the boss about it. Suddenly when he called the story changed. They didn't know that they were ALL down, they just thought it was the one. They would be right over to see what's up. They did come over, but needless to say when I left work, there were still icicles hanging in the lab.

Last night I was sitting at home watching a movie with a friend when I get a text message from my friend Kristy. If you knew the history between me and Kristy you would kind of laugh in amazement at how far we have come. She has been sick since like Thursday but we all just figured she had the flu and it was hanging on. So the text says " Hey I am throwing up blood, what do you think that means?" I'm totally shocked at how non shallant she was about the whole thing. So I immediately call her and tell her she needs to go to the hospital now. She said "well it has only happened twice" I'm just shocked. I understand that she didn't want to go because the hospital around here is really not all that great. It takes them forever to do anything! So I said I would call them and see what they say then call her back. After tracking down the number I called and they said she needed to come in. Now on top of the throwing up she had a migraine from hell that would not go away. So I called her back and told her what they said. She said "okay well I will drive myself in. My mom has to work tomorrow, and Ric can't leave work" HELLO!!!! I said no you aren't, give me a few minutes and I will take you in. I went to my mom's to pick up the baby because she wasn't sleeping yet, (I forgot to mention it is 10:30 at night) and explained things to her. She said the baby was fine there and for me to just go. So off we went. We got to the Tonapah hospital and the journey began. They gave her a shot to keep from throwing up, and one for the headache, (which we told them wasn't going to work). Then the wait for the radiologist, X-ray's then an hour's wait while the contrast stuff she had to drink made it through her system. A CT scan, then more waiting. The images were sent three times before the people that looked at them finally got them, it took two hours. YAY they got the results back, now the wait for the doc to get there and a shot of Morphine to get rid of the headache. ( This one took the edge off finally) Doc says she has a bacterial infection in her small intestine, antibiotics to get rid of that, now another CT scan of her head to see why her migraine has been there for a week and won't go away. Wait for the radiologist again, then wait for the place they send the results to again. It is now almost 5:00 am. As we figured, because she has had a CT scan on her head recently for her headaches, when the results came in everything was fine, now we had to wait for doc to come in and give us discharge instructions. He gets there, goes over everything. Since her headache and nausea are not 100% gone, she gets one more shot for vomiting, a shot of Demerol and a shot of Valium for the road. We get antibiotics for the road and we are finally out of there. Now if I hadn't mentioned. I have been awake since like 6:30 the previous morning with not even a nap! It is now 6:30 the NEXT morning, and surprisingly I'm feeling fine! We make it home about 7:30 and I head home to see my kids who are already awake and ready for they're new day. Now I know this sounds like a hell of a journey, but you have no idea how good it feels to have a friend that calls YOU when they need something because they trust you that much. I feel very loved. She knew that when in need I would be there for her no matter what. I feel so good about myself that I was able to help her out when she needed someone! Oh, and Sam, sorry our movie got interrupted and you had to spend the night waiting for me to get back. I'll make it up to you I swear!!
